Having found himself totally unprepared to meet most of life’s challenges, and having to quickly improvise to avoid certain disaster, Bob Gussin felt eminently qualified to “go pro” and lend his profound lack of foresight and planning to Improv Colorado.
A veteran radio disc jockey, who began by spinning actual vinyl discs, Bob learned to perform before an audience while he was in actuality speaking aloud to himself, alone in closet-sized rooms across the state of Iowa. He next stumbled unexpectedly into the creative and technical side of advertising, which he found not to be rocket science, but rather more like abnormal psychology…once again providing him with invaluable improv training.
By growing up in Chicago before the advent of local cable TV and internet, Bob was by necessity physically present for many performances of the famed Second-City Improv troupe seeing, in person, George Wendt, Jim Belushi, Mary Gross and others. Needless to say, Gussin is as surprised as everyone else that he is married to a beautiful, talented Jazz chanteuse, who is probably the most surprised of all.
And now, as he blindly feels his way through yet more improvisational situations, Bob invites you to experience life from where he stands, except of course during performances, when you are kindly asked to please remain seated.
